Having been previously earmarked to form part of the Grand Central Class 90 fleet, this loco has been at Toton TMD for a few months pending a repaint into GC colours. Obviously, those plans changed when GC withdrew their plans but a repaint from that tired looking EWS livery went ahead anyway and the loco has now appeared, whilst transferring back to Crewe Electric TMD, in an all black livery with "I am the backbone of the economy" decals splashed across the side

Island Line (SWR)

483006 & 483008

Sad news is filtering across from the Isle of Wight as it appears that these 2 ex London Transport 1938 tube stock have suffered mechanical problems and have been withdrawn to the maintenance depot and all services replaced by buses for the next week. I have marked them down as undergoing maintenance but there is every chance that this could be the end of these amazing little units as the Island Line take ownership of their new Class 484 units which are due in service early next year
